Music Fest 2010

We hit up another free event in the Boise area....this time...the Boise Music Fest....featuring such artists as Macy Gray, Back Street Boys, Bret Michaels and of course our favorite....Ryan Star. I was pretty excited to see Bret Michaels after watching him on the Apprentice, but I was even more excited to see Ryan Star.

Last March, Jonathan and Anna invited us to go see him at the Bull's Head Pub in Meridian. We decided to go since it was in our neighborhood. We had never heard of Ryan Star, let alone any of his music, but we met up with Jonathan and Anna and went anyway! And we had a great time! As it turned out, the advertising wasn't that great so there was hardly anyone there...he was by himself....he was touring solo.....and something with the electrical wasn't working so he went unplugged....not even using a microphone. Needless to say it was a very intimate setting and an amazing concert! Afterwards, since there was so few people, we were able to meet Ryan and talk with him for about an hour!

When we found out Ryan Star was going to be performing at the Bosie Music Fest, we quickly made plans to go. Anna and Kelly waited in line to get tickets (which ended up being a waste of their time since they never even collected the tickets and also gave them away at the entrance), but they came in handy for our 11:00pm dinner at Carls Jr.


Jonathan, Anna, Zac and I all went early enough to the concert to make sure we would see Ryan perform. Of course it was great hearing him.....but nothing will compare to our time with him in March. Afterwards, we talked to him again. He even remembered us....we must have left a lasting impression....think of how many people/fans he meets and gets pictures with. His wife was with him this time and I really wanted to meet her but she wasn't around. She's a first grade teacher in New York. It would have been fun talking teacher stuff with her. Maybe next time! One of these times that he comes to Boise we'll be able to visit with him again and hopefully even hang out with him.....it might be a little far fetched, but hey....he told Jonathan to email him and he got back to him in the same night!

We definitely look forward to Ryan's next stop in Boise!
