Hawkes Baseball Game

Last night we met up with Jonathan and Anna and went to a Hawkes baseball game. CFI, a contractor at St. Lukes put on a customer appreciation event including a free bbq, drinks, tickets for drawings and tickets into the game. Another free event....of course we couldn't say no.

Zac and I in the Hawke's Nest!

Panoramic view of the field.

Around the third or fourth inning a foul ball was hit and smacked a car....we could hear the thunk. (We arrived early to the game so we went ahead and parked in the first row. What were we thinking? Apparently, we weren't!) Not knowing if the big "thunk" we heard was our car or not, we decided it would be a good idea to move the car. Luckily for us, the the big "thunk" was 6 cars down from us....a completely shattered windshield, with glass on the dashboard. Three cars down from us another broken windshield. The luck was going in our favor last night. After Zac moved the car to the back forty we could enjoy the rest of the game without worrying about a foul ball equalling a broken windshield.

The best part of the night....at 9:13 Zac suggested we leave. I didn't want to....after all how often do we go to baseball games....granted it wasn't a great game and the Hawkes were loosing and ended up loosing, but still we needed to stick it out til the end. And good thing we did!!!! A guy Zac works with left early and as he passed us, he said something to effect of "Zac, I can't believe they called your name for the Ipod Touch." What? At first thinking he was joking, Zac brushed it off. But once we noticed he was willing to help us find out where he needed to go to pick up his prize, we realized there was no joking about it. For those of you who didn't know...Zac has been wanting an Ipod Touch for a long time!

Doesn't get much better than that! Free food, free tickets into a baseball game and a free brand new Ipod Touch. Thanks CFI!
