2013!!!!  Well, it's been weeks, months, maybe a year or so since my last post.  As we go into February, my goal for 2013 is be a little better about keeping up on the blog.  It's certainly fun to look back and reminisce about memories, experiences, vacations, football, school, cabin trips, etc. through the blog.  Just a few key points that happened in 2012:
  • Remmy ate a wad of material and had to undergo stomach surgery.  Our "free" dog that we rescued has definitely cost us!  But he's priceless to us and well worth the $$$$!
  • Rio is well....Rio!  He keeps us on our toes, he's always going and never stops!  He puts the energizer bunny to shame!
  • I taught summer school.  What a great experience.  It is very different from my teaching job during the school year!  I'm going back this summer for round two.
  • Zac is in his second and final year of the BSU Radiology program.  He graduates this May with his Associates in Radiological Sciences and now he is in the process of applying for a program in a specialty area (ie. MRI or CT) and then he'll graduate with a bachelor's degree next December.  The countdown is on!!!!  11 months!
  • Zac got a job at the downtown St. Luke's in radiology!  Yahoo!
  • I took up the hobby of hot yoga and love every minute of it!
  • We met Jill and Nic and have become great friends!  Jill and I do yoga during the week, Zac and Nic see each other at class and we usually find time on the weekend to get together.
  • We went on our first annual trip to Walla Walla with Jill and Nic for some wine tasting.  We were introduced to some good wine (Dusted Valley is our favorite), enjoyed some good dining and laughed nonstop for the 72 hours we were together!  We're hoping for round #2 this summer!
  • Common Core is being introduced as our new teaching standards and this year (my 6th year) has been the hardest and most challenging with a shift in curriculum and so many unknowns.  I've had a lot of "ah ha" moments this year and with each one, I'm feeling a little better.
  • Joe Southwick filled the big shoes of Kellen Moore as BSU's starting quarterback.  We went 11-2 (we lost to Michigan State and San Diego State), shared the Mountain West Conference and played in the Las Vegas Bowl (for our 3rd straight appearance) and beat the Washington Huskies (who we open to at Washington for the debut of their new stadium) in 2013.  Road trip anyone?  We're hoping to pull off an away game.
  • Bry dressed up as a cheerleader, Z a police officer and Kingston a monster for Halloween.
  • The Ranch sold this past November.  It's bittersweet!  We aren't moved out yet, but will be sooner than later.  I'm sad our kids won't know the "ranch" and won't get to experience all that it had to offer...walks to the river, skipping rocks, horses, elk, snowshoeing, bon fires, full moon nights, sledding, bugling elk in the middle of the night, Troyless (the barn cat), Easter egg hunts, bbqs...and I know the dogs will certainly miss it!  It was heaven for them!  I know I will miss all of the above reasons and more....sitting on the deck, sitting by the fire, the beautiful views, my bedroom with forest green carpet and a pink accent wall (both of which I just had to have and Cam said yes!), mowing the lawns (as much as I hated it, I'll miss it some), but more than anything I will cherish all of the memories made there!
  • Cam underwent open heart, double bypass surgery this past month.  He has a long recovery ahead of him, but we are certainly lucky he's still will us!!!!!!
So, in a nutshell, that's our year!  Here's to staying on top of it with more picture posts and less words!
