McCall, Hailey, Challis

Well, well, well! It's been a long while since I last updated the blog! Zac finished off the semester on the dean's list and was very busy getting all of his stuff taken care of for the radiology program this fall....shots, CPR certification, shoes, scrubs...! My school year finished off smoothly.....but I definitely miss the kids and their stories, smiles, jokes and laughter!

So...we are trying to enjoy our summer before Zac starts this strenuous radiology program and our life will be stationary here in Boise for the next few years.

McCall

We spent Memorial Day weekend up in McCall with Mom and Cam. We took a drive up to Riggins and up the Main Salmon. It was beautiful. We took a little hike and saw 2 golden eagles, some sheep and even a white tail deer. On the way back we stopped at Ruby Rapids (not sure if that's what it is really called or not...but that's how we know it now). We hunted for rubies and found some real beauties....only to find out that they are really garnets. Oh well, we still had so much fun!

Mom and I decided to walk over the suspension bridge.

The weather was pretty stormy, so Sunday we spent the day inside and played Ticket to Ride, the train game. Of course I lost....horribly. In fact I started out in the negatives. Jonathan won, I think! Sunday evening we headed over to the Perseo's for a BBQ. Both girls were there with their precious little ones...Payton and Owen. Anna and I got our fair share of holding both!

Ticket to Ride

Sunday evening, Mom and I took on Zac and Cam in shuffle board. Excitingly, the girls won 3 out of 5 games. This time I played offensively, rather than defensively. In fact, I only found myself blasting Zac's pucks just a few times.

Monday, we met up with Jonathan and Anna and their dogs for a little hike. Once we came across fresh....still soft bear scat, I was ready to head back to the road. We did find all of Jonathan's high school party spots though!

Remmy, Rio and Rockee running in the pretty flowers.

Hailey....Zac and I took Bry and Zayden home for a weekend in Hailey. Friday night we had a bon fire, which was a lot of fun. It was a good fire, good wine, and good company.

Zac and I took the dogs down to the river and did some exploring on how we could cross the two creeks to get to the river. Eventually Zac just walked through the water to get to the river, but I opted out as the weather was a bit too cold to go tromping through river water.

The kids had fun, playing in the flowers, picking flowers, blowing bubbles, going for walks and just playing! Bry had her "noculars" and "compass-watch" so we wouldn't get lost.

Bry and Zayden on our way to the river!

Challis....this past weekend, Zac and I made a long weekend trip up to Challis. It was the first time we've been up to Challis since last summer so it felt good to be up there! We made it up there Thursday evening and the spent the night with Zac's grandparents. Friday, Zac's parents and sister joined us. Saturday the weather was rainy and stormy so we decided to go for a drive and have a picnic lunch. We headed out East Fork and up Spar canyon. We had lunch on the side of the road in a really pretty canyon.

We finished off our drive and found some wild horses, about a dozen of them. They were straggly, but pretty and fun to see!

During the weekend, we finished and then started a new puzzle. We took lots of walks, did some reading, puzzles, games and just relaxed.

Sunday everyone packed up and headed out. We originally had planned to stay til Monday, but with everyone leaving we thought about changing our plans. In the end, we decided to stick with our plan and stay. Luckily we did, at about 8:00 we decided to head out to the hot springs and as we were heading out, Mom and Cam called. They were on their way through and decided to camp out in the driveway. So we got to spend Father's Day with both dads.

Emily and Remmy

We've been busy, but it's been fun and nice to get out of Boise. Who knows where our next adventure will take us.
